Protection | Self –help Group Activities | Project: “Migrant Women and Men Working Together to Stop Violence Against Women”- Fund from IOM
Meetings of the Self-help groups are to create a safe environment in which its members can share their feelings and experience with people having the same circumstances. This will put impact on members’ emotion and awareness, then change their attitudes and behaviors about violence against women, help them cope with difficulties in life and see more clearly their self values. Hence, they can be more confident to reintegrate to community.
Objectives:
- Strengthening the group: Drawing up working plans, building group’s core values, establishing a cooperative mechanism as well as report making mechanism and mechanism of monitoring and evaluation
- Developing core values of the group, focusing on solidarity, voluntariness, affection, honesty…
- Strengthening the solidarity among group members
- Giving psychological support to group members so that they can share their problems and be more confident
- Developing personal capacities of group leaders, revising skills for old members, training newcomers
- Giving knowledge on violence against women (of which focusing mostly on domestic violence)
Location: CSAGA’ conference room (Building A9, Com Vong Street, Dich Vong Hau ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi
Time: Starting in March, 2011
Participants:
- Main beneficiaries: Migrant women who suffer from forms of gender-based violence.
- Impact subjects: Migrant Women and Men.
