Protection | Clubs of Survivors of Domestic Violence in Hanoi and Hoa Binh | Project: “Support the Implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control and Promote the Supplementation of Relevant Policies”, fund from Oxfam Novib
Objectives:
- These clubs will be trusted addresses for people who have the same circumstances, these are places where they can meet and share things with each other, help one another become stronger and be able to solve their own problems
- Clubs will expand and strengthen their strength in community, showing their voices and expectations to local authorities and relevant entities to protect women’s rights
- Provide knowledge on gender, domestic violence and women’s rights
Working method: In the first four months, CSAGA staff members will facilitate these clubs directly, select active and potential members, then train them into key leaders in the localities. They will be elements who will duplicate the clubs, connect clubs into a large network and carry out activities to help raise survivors’ voices to the whole community and local authorities.
In following months, after being trained, target groups will run these clubs actively and give support to people who have the same situation in their localities.
CSAGA will give financial support during the first year of the club meetings. In the second year, some financial support will be reduced and in the third year, funding will be reduced considerably. The target group and its members will have a process in which they will know how to make themselves stronger, more active in improving club activities in their local area. However, CSAGA will still hole the facilitating and technical supporting role for all these clubs.
Participants: Survivors of DV in Hanoi and Hoa Binh
Time: Hanoi Club has its meeting on every last Saturday of each month; Club in Hoa Binh has its meeting on the 15th day of each month.

CSAGA experts give advice on building the detailed agenda for each meeting. Clubs activities are maintained and people-in-charge are trying to build a comprehensive and effective program.
