Meetings of Fathers-to-be Groups at Polyclinic Hospital, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province


Project: “Improving the Rights of Lesbians and Encouraging the Participation of Men in Domestic Violence Prevention”, supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi.

Goals of the program:
- The program is to create a close relationship between husbands and wives, especially in the period the wives are pregnant. Furthermore, the program is aimed to create safe feelings for future mothers, help them prepare the best for the important period in their lives.

- The program helps fathers-to-be prepare better to welcome their babies and see more clearly their responsibility and roles to their children.

- The program inspires fathers-to-be to share their feelings
   
Objectives of the program:
- To increase gender equality and the sharing in families
- To increase the availability of fathers to their children
- To reduce the divorce rate
- To decrease violence of men against women and children
- To increase men’s health and reduce negative behaviors

Venue: Polyclinic Hospital, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province
Time: Starting from May 10 2011
Participants: 15 fathers-to-be at Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province
Agenda: Fathers-to-be share their experience in keeping family’s happiness, share their feelings of being fathers for the first time, exchange knowledge and experience in bringing and educating children.
