Respectively to: All organizations and individuals in the field of gender-based violence prevention.

Gender-based violence prevention is one of the most important objectives in millennium. In UN’s general- secretary’s one of the speeches, Mr. Ban Ki-moon had announced that “violence against women is never accepted, tolerated and forgiven” because it has caused much losses referring to socio-economy, in family, community and in each country. The general secretary also said that gender inequality has been an obstacle for some countries and nations in all over the world on the way carrying out the objective of development of millennium forward to the better world in the 21 century.


In Vietnam in the recent years, the governments and the domestic and foreign civil social organizations have had the policies and enthusiastic activities in order to improve the gender, protect the Vietnamese women’s rights and domestic violence protection. The mass media, the national press, the social workers have been the key factors working in this field.


In the hope of contribute strength to the social workers, the journalists and the relevant organizations in the process of eliminating the gender violence, CSAGA has found a counseling and media Resource Center of Gender- based violence (CMRC) in Vietnam. CMRC has been built by CSAGA with the sponsor of Ford Foundation and Oxfam Novib.


It is planed that CMRC will start at about June 2009, some main activities of CMRC includes:

- Systematically collect information and resources of gender-based violence in Vietnam to enable the social workers, the mass media to easily approach and use the materials.
- Provide the social workers and activists, the mass media with the full and exact information of gender-based violence by the freely- handed-out news and materials monthly, magazines of gender, professionals’ support line or website.
- Hold some conferences sharing the global information of gender.
- Support the solution methods to the social workers; counsel some cases of domestic violence in community.

At present, CMRS is building the resources able to work effectively, meeting the social workers and the mass media’s demands. We are ardently calling for the co-operation of some individuals and organizations in providing and sharing the information, the researches and action pattern, and in intervening in the field of gender violence which you have known and had so far. Your participants will make contribution to the CMRC’s resources, which will enrich the shared resources by you and the co-workers when CMRC starts providing information.
